Doom kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rise Of The Warriors. The crowd seem to be enjoying Rood's choice of entrance music: -. Brad Rood has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jacob Doom's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Doom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Rood!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doom is looking to land body kicks.

Rood slips a straight right by Doom.
Doom tries to move into range but Rood moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rood misses with a wild combination.
Doom misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Doom ducks under a wild hook from Rood.
Doom fails with an attempt to clinch.
Doom fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rood has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rood gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Doom to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Doom decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Doom has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Doom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rood's head.

Rood is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Doom wants to control but Rood is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jacob Doom wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Doom throws a solid leg kick but Rood takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Doom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doom stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rood looks to throw the jab but Doom is out of range.
Rood tests Doom's chin there with a solid looking shot.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Doom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rood shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Doom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rood might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Doom throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Some bone on bone action there as Rood checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Doom throws a sloppy head kick and Rood moves out of range easily.
Rood misses with a body shot.
Rood lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doom manages to avoid it.
Rood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doom circles away quickly and effectively.
Rood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Doom sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rood somewhat.
Jacob Doom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Rood.

Doom throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rood stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doom closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Doom lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rood down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Doom will probably get the nod.

Rood is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Doom.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Doom.

Rood takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Doom throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Doom jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rood misses with a hook. Doom ducked under it nicely.
Doom connects with a looping right hand.
Rood lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Doom swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rood.
Doom wants to control but Rood postures up.
Rood misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rood throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Doom works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Doom is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The ground and pound from Rood seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Rood is looking to take a break and control but Doom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jacob Doom.
Well Doom has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
