Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kiyoshi Tamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Kei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kiyoshi Tamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kei!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kei drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Kei seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Kei is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tamura has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kei stands up and beckons Tamura to his feet.

and Tamura counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
A bone on bone clash there as Kei blocks the leg kick.
Tamura throws a leg kick that misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tamura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kei has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Tamura shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kei manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kiyoshi Tamura just wasn't active enough.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tamura.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tamura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Tamura closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kei's guard.

Kei escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tamura gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tamura shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kei is trying to defend but Tamura finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tamura uses his free foot to push down on Kei's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kei.

Well Tamura has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
