Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Kyle Romo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepito Manalotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, John Kyle Romo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Pepito Manalotto!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manalotto wants to clinch but Romo slips to the side
and Romo counters with a nice low kick that buckles Manalotto's knee momentarily.
Manalotto slips under a jab from Romo.
Romo misses with a shot to the body

and Manalotto counters by clinching up.
Manalotto tries to pull guard but Romo won't allow it.
Manalotto is trying to pull guard but Romo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Manalotto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Romo walks away with a smile on his face. Manalotto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John Kyle Romo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepito Manalotto.

Romo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Manalotto did well to prevent Romo getting side control.

Romo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Manalotto sees it coming and defends easily.

Manalotto is looking to improve his position.
Romo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Romo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Manalotto has escaped the position, nice work there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Romo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Manalotto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Romo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manalotto fails to pull guard.

Romo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Romo looks to land a left hand but Manalotto moved out of range nicely.

Romo throws a leg kick that misses.
Romo misses the jab.
Romo jabs Manalotto to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Romo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Manalotto tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Romo counters with a straight right hand.
Romo lands a nice shot that snaps Manalotto's head back.
Romo throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Manalotto counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Manalotto jumps guard but Romo stands there with Manalotto around his waist. Manalotto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Romo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Romo stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Romo looking to throw knees to the head but Manalotto is blocking nicely.
Manalotto tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Romo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Romo lands a nice uppercut.
Romo lands with a light punch inside.
Romo lands with a short shot to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Romo.

Manalotto is rocked!
Romo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Manalotto is still on wobbly legs! Can Romo finish him?
Manalotto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Romo lands with a short shot to the head.
Romo unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Manalotto! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Romo is unloading with more strikes now! Manalotto drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Kyle Romo!
A relieved looking John Kyle Romo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
