Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Frazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Sparks!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks moves out of range as Frazier strikes.
Frazier really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Frazier motions for Sparks to come forward. Frazier throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Frazier lands with a nice body kick.
Sparks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sparks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Frazier.
Frazier thumps Sparks with a low kick.
Ron Sparks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sparks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Frazier napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Frazier parries the strikes from Sparks easily there. Sparks is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Frazier to escape.
Sparks wants to control for a moment but Frazier uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sparks perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sparks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sparks passes the guard and advances to mount!
Frazier is bucking up trying to escape but Sparks cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Sparks throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Frazier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sparks on the ground.
Frazier is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Sparks unloads with some shots from mount but Frazier bucks and avoids them well.
Sparks scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Frazier?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Frazier in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Sparks is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Frazier has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Frazier!

Sparks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frazier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frazier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sparks is adopting a defensive guard.

Sparks is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Frazier rolls with it to try and escape but Sparks cranks on the arm and Frazier is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ron Sparks!
