Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keith Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsatsu Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green comes to the cage accompanied by Supersonic - Jamiroquai. Keith Green has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Keith Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tsatsu Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Gomi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gomi.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Green looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gomi is one step ahead there.

Green pushes Gomi off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Gomi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gomi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Green wants to control but Gomi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gomi seems to be working for a kimura but Green defends the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gomi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Green is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gomi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Green rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gomi's guard! Nice work there by Green!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Gomi's legs - danger averted.

Green wants to control from the top but Gomi keeps moving.

Green gets to his feet. Gomi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gomi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Green.
Green takes a swing at Gomi's ribcage but misses.
Gomi thows a body shot but no joy.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Green.
Green throws a body punch but Gomi moves out of range.
Green looks for the body kick but Gomi saw that one coming.
Gomi shoots for a takedown but Green saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gomi closes the distance and clinches up with Green, looking for a takedown. Gomi pushes Green against the cage but Green circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Green throws a shot from downtown. Gomi moves away and avoids it.
Gomi walks into a left hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gomi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Green sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Keith Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tsatsu Gomi.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Green tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That was a close round but I would say that Keith Green will probably get the nod.

Green scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gomi doesn't seem bothered though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A shot to the body from Gomi misses
and Green counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gomi thinking.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gomi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Green - the referee stops the clock and Gomi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Green. Gomi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Gomi is looking for a kimura but Green is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gomi to get the leverage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Green lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
