The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dio swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Oliveira.

It looks like Edinaldo Oliveira has been cut.
Oliveira takes a swing at Dio's ribcage but misses.
Dio throws a right and a left that Oliveira avoids nicely.
Oliveira misses with a straight right.
Oliveira looks to land a right hand but Dio moved out of range.
Oliveira scores with the left hand. Dio knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oliveira fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oliveira throws a nice looking combination but Dio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dio uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Oliveira.
Oliveira takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Oliveira loads up on a big right hand but Dio slips the punch.

Dio moves into the clinch.
Dio tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Oliveira blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Oliveira prevents a body shot from Dio.
Dio working aggressively here.
Dio gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Oliveira.
Dio stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Still in the clinch, Oliveira scores with a nice short uppercut.
Dio's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Dio doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Oliveira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dio throws an overhand right that lands on Oliveira's shoulder, as Oliveira tries to avoid the shot.
Oliveira jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dio lunges at Oliveira with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Oliveira's hand.
Dio connects with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A slow jab from Oliveira misses its intended target.
A punch lands to the side of Oliveira 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Edinaldo Oliveira's cut is getting worse.
Dio is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Zack Dio decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
