Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carnival Hippo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petter Anier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petter Anier!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Anier. No joy for Hippo on that attempt.
Hippo lands a nice hook to Anier's body. Anier takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hippo leaves Anier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hippo falls off balance throwing a combination

and Anier counters with a takedown into side control.
Anier working the ground and pound from side control.
Anier looking to control but instead Hippo has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hippo wants to get back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Anier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hippo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hippo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hippo won't allow Anier to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anier stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hippo throws a combination that misses
and Anier counters with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hippo with a lazy takedown attempt
and Anier counters with a big head kick but Hippo shrugs it off.

Hippo is rocked!

Hippo gets tackled into the cage by Anier. Anier maintains the clinch.
Hippo tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carnival Hippo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hippo manages to break the clinch.
Anier takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Anier.
Oh Hippo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Anier decides to stand back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Anier is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Hippo is in big trouble! Anier is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Hippo. Poor guy.
