The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua instigates a clinch.
Rua unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Rua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stewart misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stewart looks gassed!
Rua throws a head kick that misses.

Stewart tries to keep at a distance but Rua has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rua is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Stewart is defending well for now.
Rua tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Stewart prevents a takedown attempt there.

Rua pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rua manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rua lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stewart hang on?

Rua tries to control but Stewart wriggling away.

Stewart is bucking up trying to escape but Rua cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Rua lands with some strikes.

Stewart is rocked!

The referee warns Stewart that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Stewart is still in real trouble! Can Rua finish him?
Rua connects with a bit shot that sees Stewart covering up! More strikes from Rua and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rua is our winner by TKO!

Jake Rua opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
