Rogers comes to the cage accompanied by Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue. Mayfield has chosen Dean Martin - Ain't That a Kick in the Head as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Mayfield!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mayfield to the mat! Mayfield manages to get full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Rogers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rogers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Rogers distracts Mayfield with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Mayfield working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rogers wants to control from the top but Mayfield keeps moving.

Rogers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mayfield has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rogers has managed to get both his arms back between Mayfield's legs - danger averted.

Rogers takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Rogers slips a nice elbow through Mayfield's hands, connecting with Mayfield's forehead.

Rogers winds up and cracks Mayfield with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rogers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tyler Mayfield's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tyler Mayfield's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Steve Rogers!
