Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joaozinho Gurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera comes to the cage accompanied by Black Eyed Peas - Bebot. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Vera finds it's target.
It looks like Joaozinho Gurgel has been cut.

Vera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gurgel moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gurgel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Veras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Gurgel throws a hook to the side of Vera's head but Vera sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

No joy there for Vera, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vera tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vera buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vera has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Vera there as he acknowledges the shot.
Some bone on bone action there as Gurgel checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gurgel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Vera loses concentration momentarily and Gurgel pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Vera crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Gurgel finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
