Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Monte Christo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kauko Partio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christo comes to the cage accompanied by Walk this way - Run DMC & Aerosmith. Partio has chosen Popeda - Mä elän vieläkin as his entrance music. Kauko Partio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christo throws out a leg kick but Partio moves out of range and Christo only half commits.
A slapping leg kick lands for Christo.
Partio misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Christo.
Nice uppercut lands for Partio. That snapped Christo's head back.

Partio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Christo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Partio is one step ahead there.
Partio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Christo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Christo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Partio on the ground.

and Partio counters with a big head kick but Christo shrugs it off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Partio throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Partio uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Christo.

Christo throws a body punch but Partio moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Partio.
Partio throws a head kick that misses.
Partio throws a half hearted mid kick.
Christo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Partio can pounce on him.
Partio defending well as Christo loads up on a big left hand.

Partio attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Christo throws a body kick that misses.
Partio has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Partio there as he acknowledges the shot.
Christo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Christo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Partio gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Christo.
Christo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Christo throws a looping overhand right but Partio ducks down to avoid it.

Partio shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Partio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Partio wants to pass the guard but Christo is defending well.

Christo is trying to control but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Partio is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Partio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Christo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Partio tries to pass to full mount but Christo defends it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Christo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Partio scores with a couple of nice shots.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Partio shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Partio stalling away here and it's allowed Christo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Partio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Christo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Partio is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Christo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Christo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Partio postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Christo looks a forlorn figure.

Partio lands a big elbow - Christo is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Christo is forced to tap out!
