The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showman misses with a few strikes there.
Sloppy strikes from Salameh. Those never looked like landing.
Salameh throws a right hand that Showman ducks under and follows up with a left that Showman also avoids with ease.
Showman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Showman throws a shot to the body.
Showman misses with a two punch combination.
Showman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Salameh takes a kick to the side of the head.
Salameh misses with a double jab.
Showman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Salameh closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Showman quickly recovers to half guard.
Salameh slips a nice elbow through Showman's hands, connecting with Showman's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Salameh is taking a breather. Showman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Salameh connects with a nice short shot to Showman's temple.

Salameh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Showman sees it coming and defends easily.
Salameh lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
