PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nebojsa Mihattovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drake Aubrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mihattovic comes to the cage accompanied by Geto Boys - Still. Aubrey has chosen Over - Drake as his entrance music. Drake Aubrey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Aubrey!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aubrey looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Drake Aubrey has been cut.
Aubrey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mihattovic throws out the jab.
Mihattovic's corner calls for a 1-2. Mihattovic obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Aubrey throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Mihattovic lands a glancing blow to the side of Aubrey's head.
Aubrey throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Mihattovic to counter with a crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mihattovic throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Mihattovic shoots in for a double leg but Aubrey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aubrey tries to clinch but Mihattovic moves out of range.
Aubrey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mihattovic. That did some damage!

Aubrey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Aubrey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Mihattovic closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mihattovic uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Aubrey.
Mihattovic throws an overhand right that lands on Aubrey's shoulder, as Aubrey tries to avoid the shot.
Mihattovic throws a series of punches but Aubrey avoids them all with ease.

No joy there for Mihattovic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Mihattovic counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aubrey's knee momentarily.
Mihattovic is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

and Mihattovic counters with a nice kick to the body.
Mihattovic digs a good body shot into Aubrey's ribs.

Mihattovic fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Aubrey is out of range.
Mihattovic pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mihattovic misses with a straight right.
Aubrey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mihattovic's head backwards.
Mihattovic misses with an uppercut.
Aubrey misses with a body shot.
Mihattovic throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Aubrey's head.
A slapping leg kick lands for Aubrey.
Drake Aubrey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mihattovic misses with a wild combination.
Aubrey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mihattovic manages to avoid it.

Sloppy strikes from Aubrey. Those never looked like landing.

Aubrey looks to score with a jab to the body but Mihattovic is just out of range.
Mihattovic moves forwards but Aubrey connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aubrey misses with an uppercut.
Aubrey pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mihattovic back to the cage. Aubrey follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Aubrey lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Mihattovic is rocked!
Aubrey looks to land a right hand but Mihattovic moved out of range.
Oh Mihattovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aubrey throws a shot from downtown. Mihattovic moves away and avoids it.
Aubrey cracks Mihattovic with a hook to the temple - Mihattovic is on wobbly legs here! Aubrey swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Mihattovic falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Aubrey wins by TKO!
