The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nice elbow from Khan.

It looks like Cristiano Mendes has been cut.
Mendes is trying to stall.
Khan with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Mendes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Khan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Khan can't get the takedown.
Mendes trying to stall but Khan improves his position.
Khan lands an elbow inside that Mendes shrugs off.

That has opened up Cristiano Mendes's cut even more.
Khan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Mendes is rocked!

The cut above Cristiano Mendes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Mendes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Khan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Cristiano Mendes's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mendes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khan smiles and moves away.

Khan gets a clinch.

Khan lands a damaging elbow.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Cristiano Mendes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Abaka Khan!
