Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Flight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eiji Kawashima!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawashima throws a hook but Flight avoids it easily.
Crunch! Kawashima slams his shin into Flight's torso.
Flight checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Flight keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Flight circles away from the clinch attempt
and Flight counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kawashima thuds a left hand into Flight's body.
A jab from Flight misses.
Flight misses the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kawashima. Flight does a little dance to reset his feet.
A bone on bone clash there as Kawashima blocks the leg kick.
Kawashima scores with a shot to the body.
Flight lands a jab-cross combination.
Flight avoids the head kick by Kawashima.

Kawashima throws a low kick, looking for Flight's leg but Flight calmly moves out of range.
Flight is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kawashima.

Flight tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Kawashima manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kawashima fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Eiji Kawashima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Kawashima counters with a nice low kick that buckles Flight's knee momentarily.
Flight throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kawashima's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Flight connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kawashima swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Eiji Kawashima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flight keeps Kawashima at a distance using the push kick.
Flight throws the kick towards the body but Kawashima avoids it.

Kawashima takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Flight lands a nice hook to Kawashima's body. Kawashima takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kawashima lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Flight is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Eiji Kawashima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kawashima cracks Flight with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the ropes! Flight falls to his knees and Kawashima doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Eiji Kawashima seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
