The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Hoef fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Van Der Hoef gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Van Der Hoef lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Van Der Hoef escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Van Der Hoef lands with a good body shot.
Van Der Hoef stalks Fredriksson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fredriksson's face. Fredriksson staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van Der Hoef is looking to clinch but Fredriksson is avoiding it.

Van Der Hoef has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fredriksson wants a takedown.
Van Der Hoef digs a right hand into Fredriksson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fredriksson's gas tank.
Fredriksson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Van Der Hoef gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Fredriksson is breathing heavily.

Van Der Hoef's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Van Der Hoef drops Fredriksson with a left right combo! Van Der Hoef follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like David Fredriksson has been cut.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Van Der Hoef tries to advance to mount but Fredriksson denies him.
Van Der Hoef is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fredriksson's shoulder. That is not cool.

Van Der Hoef is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fredriksson has escaped the position, nice work there.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rafael Van Der Hoef wasn't active enough on the ground.
Van Der Hoef lands a right hook to the body.
Van Der Hoef moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Van Der Hoef looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Van Der Hoef bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fredriksson's head backwards.

Van Der Hoef connects with a nice cross there... Fredriksson is looking wobbly and Van Der Hoef recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Fredriksson to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Van Der Hoef jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
