Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between A J Hearts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sung Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim has chosen Ode to General Kim Il Sung as his entrance music. Sung Kim has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, A J Hearts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sung Kim!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearts shoots and misses
and Kim makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hearts really felt that one!
Hearts throws a sloppy body shot
and Kim connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kim looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Hearts throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kim tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hearts is in Kim's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kim pulls Hearts in close to prevent any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hearts's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hearts stays in close to Kim's body and controls the position.
Kim is looking to stand up but Hearts isn't so interested in that idea.

Hearts trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kim tries to move into range but Hearts moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hearts swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kim tries to bum rush Hearts with a series of wild strikes but Hearts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hearts misses with a looping right.
A combination from Kim does no damage.
Hearts throws a shot from downtown. Kim moves away and avoids it.

Hearts throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kim counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Some wild striking there from Hearts.
Kim throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hearts's head.
Hearts gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kim counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hearts wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance.
Kim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A combination from Kim does no damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hearts misses with a looping left.
Sung Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hearts.
Kim will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hearts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.
Hearts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Hearts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hearts shoots in for a double leg but Kim sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for A J Hearts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hearts throws a right hand that misses
and Kim counters with a thumping low kick.
Kim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hearts.
Hearts throws a body punch but Kim moves out of range.

Kim takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Sung Kim has been cut.
Hearts loads up on a big right hand but Kim slips the punch.
Hearts thows a body kick. Kim tries to catch it but that hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kim ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Hearts gets a double leg takedown into Kim's guard.
Kim has control of Hearts's left arm, preventing Hearts from doing any damage.

Kim is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hearts is aware though and is defending well.
Hearts might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kim tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hearts being controlled here momentarily.

Hearts throws a hook but Kim avoids it easily.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kim. That's going to slow Hearts down.

Hearts ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kim moves away.

Hearts fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.

Kim throws a series of punches but Hearts moves out of range.
Hearts fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hearts throws a leg kick
and Kim counters with a two punch combo.
Hearts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hearts slips a jab and a cross from Kim.
Kim throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sung Kim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hearts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kim defends it nicely.
Kim throws a series of punches but Hearts avoids them all with ease.

Kim misses with a two punch combination.
Hearts changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hearts just misses with a punch to the body.
Hearts throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kim throws a body kick that misses.
Kim avoids the body shot from Hearts.
Kim throws a head kick but Hearts moves out of range.

Hearts throws a right and a left that Kim avoids nicely.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Hearts loads up on a big right hand but Kim slips the punch.
Hearts thows a body shot but no joy.
Kim pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kim throws a push kick but Hearts slaps the foot to one side.
Hearts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kim.
Kim lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kim takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hearts lands with a nice body punch.

Hearts checks the leg kick.

Hearts feints and as Kim raises his hands in defense, Hearts changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kim wants to stand up but Hearts is controlling him.
Hearts trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hearts looking to sit in guard and control but Kim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kim wants to pass the guard but Hearts is keeping the position.

Kim works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kim is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kim wants to stand but Hearts has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hearts has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kim is working away from the top position though.
Hearts is looking to improve his position.
Hearts is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hearts manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hearts throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Kim wants to stand but Hearts has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hearts shoots in and bounces Kim off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well Hearts has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
