The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonas misses with a double jab.
Jonas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ruut on the side of the head.
Jonas connects with a crisp jab.
Ruut will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ruut.
Ruut misses with a straight left.
Jonas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ruut won't allow Jonas to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jonas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ruut gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruut keeping full guard, as Jonas tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruut bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jonas's guard.
Ruut drops back looking for a leg! Jonas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jonas manages to kick Ruut off! Ruut jumps back into Jonas's guard.
Ruut advances to half guard.
Ruut wants to work for an arm triangle but Jonas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ruut is trying for a kimura here. Jonas looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ruut wins by kimura!
