Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Helgi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bjorn Helgi had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Riggs misses with a looping right.
Helgi jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Riggs scores with a crisp jab that stopped Helgi in his tracks.

and Helgi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Riggs shoots for a double leg takedown but Helgi sprawls well. He's pushed Riggs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Horrible takedown by Riggs or perhaps it was just good defense by Helgi which made him look bad.

Helgi lands a big uppercut and Riggs crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Riggs looks OK. Helgi waves Riggs back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
