The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souvong slips under a jab from Kukkonen.
Kukkonen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Souvong at a distance.
Kukkonen just misses with a punch to the body.
Kukkonen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Kukkonen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Souvong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Good exchange - Souvong coming out on top.
Kukkonen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kukkonen tries to land a front kick but Souvong steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rambo Kalervo Kukkonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Souvong fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kukkonen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Souvong is defending against the submission attempts here by Kukkonen.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kukkonen connects with a nice short shot to Souvong's temple.
Kukkonen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Souvong tries to get to full guard but Kukkonen has control of the leg.
Souvong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kukkonen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
