The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ling swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Nelson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A low kick from Nelson misses
and Ling counters with a stiff right hand.
Gunnar Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson throws a front kick aimed at Ling's knee but Ling avoids it well.
Nelson throws a body punch but Ling moves out of range.
Ling takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ling avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nelson misses with a two punch combination.
Ling thows a left - swing and a miss!

It looks like Pao Ling has been cut.

Nelson feints and then cracks Ling's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ling down.

Nelson misses with an uppercut.
Nelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ling manages to avoid it.
Nelson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ling.
Ling moves out of range as Nelson throws a body kick.
Ling misses with a straight right.
Nelson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ling checks it well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nelson. Ling does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ling checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nelson tries a head kick but it misses.

Nelson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ling is trying to defend but Nelson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nelson lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ling leaves his chin hanging out and Nelson seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ling crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
