Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose loads up on a big right hand but Descharme slips the punch.
Rose throws a right and a left that Descharme avoids nicely.
Descharme throws a body kick that misses.
Descharme throws a head kick but Rose moves out of range.
Descharme checks a leg kick.
Descharme scores with a decent looking hook.
Descharme misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rose.
Descharme lands an overhand right.

Rose throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Descharme blocks a jab.
No luck for Descharme with that takedown attempt.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Rose throws a body punch but Descharme moves out of range.
Rose walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Descharme. Rose does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rose fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Descharme pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rose back to the cage. Descharme follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Descharme fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rose to the ground. Descharme is now in Rose's guard.
Rose is looking to stand up but Descharme isn't so interested in that idea.

Descharme drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Descharme jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rose looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Descharme puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Descharme looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rose with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rose is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Descharme lands strikes from half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Descharme thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rose's head.
Descharme winds up and cracks Rose with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Rose pushes Descharme off but Descharme dives into side control.

Rose pushes Descharme away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Descharme gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Descharme lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rose down.
Descharme tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rose is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Rose tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Descharme wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Descharme cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rose tries to hold on but Descharme pushes him away.
The referee warns Rose that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Descharme! Rose is hurt baaadly! Descharme is firing away with more strikes - Rose is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Jean Descharme made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
