Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Valadez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valadez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rock of ages. David Valadez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Valadez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 56 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frito Lei!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Valadez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lei closes the distance and pushes Valadez back into the cage.
Valadez tries to pull guard but Lei holds him up against the cage and eventually Valadez drops back down to his feet.
Lei is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Lei trying to land knees to the body.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Valadez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lei breaks from the clinch.
Valadez tries to keep at a distance but Lei has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lei throws a head kick but Valadez moves out of range.
Valadez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lei tries to avoid it but Valadez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lei to the ground. Lei escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lei avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Valadez steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lei. That one must have hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lei connects with a high kick.
Valadez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lei defends it nicely.
Valadez is breathing heavily.
Lei ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lei closes the distance and pushes Valadez back into the cage.
Lei breaks the clinch.
Lei lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Lei has cracked Valadez with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Lei lands another huge swinging hook and Valadez tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Valadez, before Lei can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Frito Lei!
