Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by Go To Church. Banner has chosen xavier rudd - energy song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner ducks under a wild hook from Penn.
Penn looks to score with a jab to the body but Banner is just out of range.
Penn scores with a nice right hand.
Banner fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Penn throws a low kick but Banner moves out of range easily.
Banner lands a nice looking body shot.
Banner lands with an overhand left.
A jab from Penn misses.
A big left from Banner misses.
A clash of legs there as Banner blocks the low kick.
Banner slips under a jab.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but Banner shows good takedown defense.
Banner staying out of range there.
Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Banner counters with a nice uppercut.

Banner jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Penn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Banner was well out of range. Poor timing from Penn.
Penn tries to clinch but Banner is having none of it.

Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Banner tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Banner to the ground. Banner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Banner drives through with a takedown into Penn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Banner is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Penn is surviving well by controlling Banner's body position as best he can.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Banner keeps the fight on the outside.
Banner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Penn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Banner counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Banner wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Banner gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Penn regains guard.
Penn wants to stand and escape but Banner is having none of it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Banner stands and throws Penn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Banner creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Penn sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Banner lands a nice forearm strike.

Penn parries the strikes from Banner easily there. Banner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Penn to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penn takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Banner cracks Penn with a big right hand but Penn just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Banner just content to control the position.
Banner is looking to take a break and control but Penn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Banner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Banner has an Americana. Penn didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Banner is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Banner hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bruce Banner!
Our winner, Bruce Banner, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
