Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rip James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Baramari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by The Ultimatum. Baramari has chosen WOODKID - Iron as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bob Baramari has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rip James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Baramari!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baramari throws a quick head kick that skims the top of James's head.
Baramari throws a low kick but James avoids it.
Baramari plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Baramari connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Baramari looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Baramari misses with a low kick.
James dives in and grabs Baramari's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baramari pushes down on James's head and hops out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baramari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Baramari throws an uppercut from half a mile away. James sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baramari tries to work over James's front leg with a kick but James checks it.
No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James moves forwards but Baramari connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Baramari wants to slow James down by chopping away at his legs.
A low kick from Baramari is predictable there
and Baramari takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Baramari misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Baramari tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baramari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baramari is looking to chop away at James's legs.
Baramari goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James blocks a head kick by Baramari.
Baramari throws a low kick, looking for James's leg but James calmly moves out of range.
James throws a hook to the side of Baramari's head but Baramari sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Baramari takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
James takes a kick to the side of the head.
James blocks a head kick by Baramari.
James ducks under a wild hook from Baramari.
Baramari leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rip James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Baramari's hands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

James manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Baramari on his heels. He'll look to pass Baramari's guard now, I'm sure.

James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baramari works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Baramari is retaining full guard.
Baramari is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

James lands with a good body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Baramari as James shoots in.
Baramari throws a leg kick but James sees it coming and moves out of range.
Baramari lands with a thumping leg kick.
Baramari plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baramari throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Bob Baramari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baramari scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Baramari shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Baramari lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and James has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from James and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Baramari dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A swing and a miss from Baramari.

James shoots in and bounces Baramari off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baramari swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Baramari wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and James manages to pass to side control.
Baramari is looking to escape.
Baramari is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baramari avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Baramari is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him
Baramari is trying is best to control the position here.
Baramari is not content to let James control the position.
Baramari is trying to get back to full guard.
Baramari wants to get back to his feet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baramari does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Baramari throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baramari throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it.

Baramari moves out of range of the strikes.
James throws a shot to the body.
Nice defenses there by Baramari.
A decent looking cross lands there for James.

Baramari is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by James.

James shoots for a takedown but Baramari saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Baramari lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Baramari takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Rip James has been cut.
Baramari turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Baramari.
Baramari throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Baramari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Baramari scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


James is rocked!
James takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Baramari throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A chopping leg kick lands by Baramari.
James seems to have got his legs back now.
James takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Baramari throws a chopping leg kick but James manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
James moves out of range as Baramari strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Baramari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Rip James's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Baramari lands a brutal head kick. James looks out on his feet and Baramari throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
