Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome 2 Houston. Kevin Hawke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Coryatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Hawke!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hawke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Coryatt lands a leg kick that knocks Hawke off balance momentarily.
Coryatt's corner calls for a 1-2. Coryatt obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hawke wants to clinch
and Coryatt counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Coryatt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hawke moves out of range of the strikes.
Coryatt missing with a left hand there. Hawke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hawke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coryatt paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Coryatt has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Hawke works to full guard.

Hawke wants to stand and escape but Coryatt is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coryatt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hawke on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coryatt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We're going to have a standup here because Kevin Coryatt wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hawke takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Coryatt counters with a stiff right hand.
Coryatt throws a half hearted mid kick.
Coryatt swats away the attempt to clinch by Hawke.

and Coryatt counters with a left to the body.

Coryatt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hawke looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Coryatt stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hawke wants to clinch.

Coryatt lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Coryatt lands an elbow inside.
Coryatt working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Hawke on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Hawke throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Coryatt blocks it with crossed arms.

and Coryatt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hawke wants to clinch up but Coryatt keeps it at a distance.
Coryatt connects with a leg kick. Hawke looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Coryatt counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Donk. Coryatt catches Hawke right on the button with a cross.
Coryatt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hawke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Coryatt swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Coryatt is nestled in close to Hawke, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Coryatt throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hawke stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
