Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Stack!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kuba Guram!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stack feints and as Guram raises his hands in defense, Stack changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stack trying to control the position from guard on top but Guram is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stack looking to pass the guard.
Stack trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Guram keeping moving, preventing Stack from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stack wants to pass the guard but Guram is keeping the position.
Stack with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stack is looking to work some ground and pound but Guram has wrist control.
Stack tries to free his leg and advance position but Guram is retaining full guard.
Stack trying to control but Guram is working from the bottom.
Stack tries to free his leg and advance position but Guram is retaining full guard.
Stack sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guram's guard.
Stack not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Guram avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stack.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stack trying to control from half guard but Guram is working away.
Stack missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Stack wants to work for an arm triangle but Guram is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Guram is refusing to be controlled, as Stack sits in half guard.
Stack throwing shots but Guram is blocking nicely.
Guram is staying active underneath Stack, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Guram trying to hold on to Stack's head to control him but Stack postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stack wants to free his trapped foot but Guram is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Stack working the head and body with strikes.
Stack frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Stack thowing shots but they're missing.
Stack throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Guram holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Stack tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Stack misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Stack lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stack is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Guram looks gassed!
Stack sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Stack with shots to the head and body - Guram looks very uncomfortable down there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Guram defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stack.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Stack dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Guram enables Stack to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Guram manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Stack chips away with some ground and pound.

Stack passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Guram!

Stack unloads with some shots from mount but Guram bucks and avoids them well.
Guram in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Guram is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Stack locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Guram is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jim Stack!
Jim Stack retains his heavyweight title!
