Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quala Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Agung Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Agung Kang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Quala Bear's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quala Bear!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Agung Kang!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear digs a good hook to Kang's body.
Bear misses with a low kick.

Kang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bear looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Kang goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bear rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kang's guard! Nice work there by Bear!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kang pulls Bear in close to prevent any damage.

Kang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bear defends it easily.

Kang working for submissions but it's allowed Bear to get to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kang is trying to control but can't.
Bear trying to mount his opponent but Kang defends it.
Kang is staying active underneath Bear, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kang tries to roll over but Bear keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kang is pressing down on Bear's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bear got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bear has managed to get both his arms back between Kang's legs - danger averted.
Kang is trying to keep Bear in close.

Kang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bear can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kang throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bear escapes and throws Kang's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Kang's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kang is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bear tries for a kimura but Kang is defending well.

Bear stands up.
Bear does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kang is looking to clinch.
Kang dives in and grabs Bear's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes down on Kang's head and hops out.
Bear looks to land a right hand but Kang moved out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bear throws a front kick aimed at Kang's knee but Kang avoids it well.
Bear keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bear thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Agung Kang will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kang shoots and misses
letting Bear counter with a right hand.
Bear throws a hook to the side of Kang's head but Kang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Agung Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bear throws a looping overhand right but Kang ducks down to avoid it.
Bear cracks Kang with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bear misses with the combination.
Kang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kang shoots for a double leg takedown but Bear sprawls well. He's pushed Kang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Quala Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Agung Kang.
Bear looks to score with a jab to the body but Kang is just out of range.
Bear throws a looping overhand right but Kang ducks down to avoid it.
Kang dives in and grabs Bear's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bear pushes down on Kang's head and hops out.
Kang gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Bear lands with a nice body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bear misses with a body kick.
Kang throws a sloppy head kick and Bear moves out of range easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kang checks a leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bear tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kang is able to avoid easily.

Kang dives in and scores a takedown into Bear's guard.
Kang loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Bear controls Kang momentarily but Kang frees himself.
Kang with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bear is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kang with a nice head shot there.

Kang controlling from the top position.
Bear is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kang trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kang throws a big right hand that misses.

Kang postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bear is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kang, into his guard.

Kang is looking for a triangle here but Bear uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kang is trying to improve his position.
Kang struggling a bit here.
Kang sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Agung Kang has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kang tries to get to full guard but Bear has control of the leg.

Kang looking for subs from the bottom but Bear mounts him!
Kang tries to lock up and control but Bear gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bear tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bear trying to control but Kang is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Agung Kang will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kang tries for a takedown but Bear sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Kang counters with a shoot takedown. Bear fights it but they end up in guard.
Bear wants to stand and escape but Kang is having none of it.
Kang wants to control from the top but Bear keeps moving.

Kang wants to take a breather but Bear is having none of it.

Kang drops an elbow to the side of Bear's head.
Kang seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bear does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kang wants to pass to mount but Bear is defending the position.
Kang throws a strike but Bear avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kang wants to pass the guard but Bear is keeping the position.
Bear wants to stand up but Kang is controlling him.

Kang wants to control from the top but Bear keeps moving.

Kang drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bear looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bear looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bear!
Kang manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kang is trying to maintain the position but Bear is very close to passing his half guard.
Kang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kang is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bear's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bear's back!

Bear defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kang's arms.

Bear manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kang's guard. Nice work there by Bear.

Kang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bear can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Quala Bear has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
