PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bla Bla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bla has chosen I'm gonna live forever as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bla shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rasputin defends it nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bla is defended easily by Rasputin .

Rasputin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rasputin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bla works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rasputin is on top in guard.

Rasputin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bla circles away.
Bla misses with a takedown attempt - Rasputin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rasputin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bla was covering up waiting for the punch and Rasputin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bla is pulling down on Rasputin 's head. It's preventing any offense from Rasputin , at least for the moment.

Bla drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bla jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rasputin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rasputin tries to get out of the position.
Rasputin wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bla is now in half guard.

Rasputin is looking for a sweep. Bla is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rasputin pushes Bla off looking to stand but Bla dives back in and keeps control.

Bla working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rasputin is trying to maintain the position but Bla is very close to passing his half guard.
Piotr Rasputin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bla looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rasputin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rasputin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bla is working away from the top position though.
Bla tries to pass to full mount but Rasputin defends it.
Bla lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rasputin is trying to get back to full guard.

Bla uses his free foot to push down on Rasputin 's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rasputin .
This has been an exciting period of action!
A nice elbow there by Bla.

Bla has hold of Rasputin 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rasputin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The referee warns Rasputin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Rasputin is rocked!
Bla loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rasputin scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bla land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bla stands and salutes the crowd.
