PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Spitfire. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maya fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schwarzeneg avoids it really well and circles away.

Maya is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Schwarzeneg's half guard.
Schwarzeneg wants to improve his position but Maya is controlling well.
Schwarzeneg is trying to control but Maya passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on Schwarzeneg's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Schwarzeneg is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Maya is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Maya is landing with some decent strikes but Schwarzeneg is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Maya has hold of Schwarzeneg's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Schwarzeneg manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Maya is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Schwarzeneg can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Maya wants to control the pace but Schwarzeneg is squirming around nicely.

Maya is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schwarzeneg to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schwarzeneg shrugs it off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maya seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Schwarzeneg is holding on tight.

Maya goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Schwarzeneg is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Maya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schwarzeneg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Schwarzeneg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Maya is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Schwarzeneg off and has taken his back!

Schwarzeneg is trying to roll into a better position but Maya has get a rear naked choke and Schwarzeneg is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!

A relieved looking Damian Maya thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
