PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anton Seeberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seeberg comes to the cage accompanied by Alice in chains - Check my brain. Gracie has chosen Nervecell - Psychogenocide as his entrance music. Robbin Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anton Seeberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robbin Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seeberg misses with a head kick.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
Seeberg delivers a nice body kick.
Anton Seeberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Seeberg tenderised Gracie's leg. Gracie is trying to keep his angry face on.

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Seeberg!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Gracie looking for a guillotine from mount but Seeberg is having none of it.
Seeberg holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Seeberg is trying desperately to improve position.
Seeberg tries to hold on but Gracie postures up.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Seeberg has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Gracie throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Seeberg manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Seeberg trying to control from the bottom.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Seeberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Seeberg is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Seeberg is trying to get back to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.
Seeberg is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Seeberg is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gracie jumps into side control!
Seeberg is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Seeberg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Seeberg on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Seeberg tries to get out of the position.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Seeberg parries the strikes from Gracie easily there. Gracie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Seeberg to escape.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Seeberg is defending well.
Seeberg is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Seeberg tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbin Gracie dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Seeberg throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side.
Gracie connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Seeberg momentarily.
Seeberg tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Seeberg closes the distance and clinches.
Seeberg tries to circle away but Gracie has him pinned against the cage.

Gracie has Seeberg pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gracie pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Seeberg tumbling to the mat - Gracie dives into Seeberg's guard.

Seeberg is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gracie wants to control from the top but Seeberg keeps moving.
Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Seeberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Seeberg has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Seeberg is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Seeberg works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Seeberg pulls Gracie in to control the position.

Anton Seeberg has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Seeberg is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Seeberg is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.

Seeberg clinches.
Seeberg gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gracie.
Gracie dodges an elbow strike from Seeberg.
Gracie avoids the elbow strike from Seeberg, against the cage.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Seeberg won't allow it.
Seeberg lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Seeberg stops a takedown attempt from Gracie.
Anton Seeberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbin Gracie.

Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A frustrated look appears on Seeberg's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gracie misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Seeberg slows down the pace here.
Seeberg is trying to break free.
Seeberg pushes off an throws an elbow but Gracie leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Seeberg is trying to stall.

Gracie has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Seeberg uses from the top position.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Seeberg pushes his legs off easily.

Seeberg gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Seeberg throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Seeberg closes the distance but Gracie moves to the side

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Seeberg sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Robbin Gracie will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Seeberg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Seeberg misses with a head kick.
Seeberg misses with a kick to the body.
Seeberg moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Seeberg throws a head kick that misses

and Gracie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Seeberg!
Seeberg is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Seeberg is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Seeberg blocking the ground and pound.
Gracie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Seeberg's face.
Gracie looking to control but Seeberg is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Seeberg tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gracie working for a submission but Seeberg is keeping him at bay.
Seeberg wants to control but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie thowing shots but they're missing.

Seeberg is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.
Gracie thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Seeberg is now in Gracie's guard. A big mistake from Gracie there, giving up the dominant position!

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie has an active guard here but Seeberg has managed to pass into half guard.

Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Seeberg is working away from the top position though.
Seeberg missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Seeberg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Robbin Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robbin Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gracie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
