The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Poullin moves into range and clinches up with Williams.

Poullin takes a little break here. Williams wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Poullin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Poullin is pressing down on Williams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Williams is holding on for now.

Williams circles away from the clinch attempt
and Williams counters with a left to the body.
Poullin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Williams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Poullin wants to clinch but Williams slips to the side
and Williams counters with a slapping leg kick.

and Williams counters with a head kick. That will keep Poullin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Williams throws a right hand that Poullin ducks under and follows up with a left that Poullin also avoids with ease.

and Poullin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Williams!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Poullin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.

Poullin working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Williams slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Poullin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Williams preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Stevo Poullin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Poullin trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Williams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Stevo Poullin wasn't active enough on the ground.

Poullin moves into the clinch successfully.
Poullin has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Poullin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Williams's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Paul Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stevo Poullin.
Poullin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Williams's efforts to push away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Poullin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Poullin wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.
Williams jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Poullin rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Poullin is pushing Williams up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Poullin is trying to trip Williams. He has hold of a leg but Williams is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Poullin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Williams lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Poullin!
Poullin is trying desperately to improve position.

Poullin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Poullin is trying to maintain the position but Williams is very close to passing his half guard.
Poullin is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Poullin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Williams is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Poullin wants to control but Williams is keeping busy.
Paul Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Stevo Poullin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Poullin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
