Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Total War - The Shogun II as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Junior!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Junior.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Junior, as that shot connected.
Junior swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Junior had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Carlos Gracie has been cut.
Gracie fails to land the takedown.
Jorge Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Gracie.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Junior pinned against the cage. Junior gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Junior fails to land with a series of punches.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Junior is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie prevents Junior from standing back up.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Junior is defending well.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Junior is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Junior keeps working.
Junior is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Junior is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.
Junior is not content to let Gracie control the position.

Junior makes his way to full guard, as Gracie worked for a kimura.
Junior looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
Gracie trying to control but Junior is working from the bottom.
Junior keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
Junior looking for a sweep. Not yet Junior, not yet.
Junior keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Gracie won't allow Junior to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Junior is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Junior defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.
Junior darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Gracie dives in and grabs Junior's left leg, looking for a takedown. Junior pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Junior pinned against the cage. Junior gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gracie defending well as Junior loads up on a big left hand.
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Junior misses the shot to the body.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Junior is controlling Gracie's trapped leg to prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Junior kicks Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Junior waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gracie.
Junior fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gracie dodges the punch combination from Junior.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Junior, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Junior against the cage but Junior circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Junior manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Junior takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Junior swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Carlos Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Junior paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Junior dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Carlos Gracie's cut.
That's time! Junior's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Junior, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Junior against the cage but Junior circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Junior lands a nice shot to the body.
Junior stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Junior wants it to stay on the feet.
Junior circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie misses with a takedown

and Junior counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Jorge Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Gracie.
Junior lands an uppercut.

Junior's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Junior sprawls well. Junior wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Junior blocks a leg kick.

Junior lands a big uppercut and Gracie crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Gracie looks OK. Junior waves Gracie back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Junior defends it nicely.
Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Junior throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Junior takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.

Junior lands a left and a right that send Gracie crashing to the mat, dazed. Junior thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Gracie is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Junior.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Junior finish him?
Nice defenses there by Gracie.
Junior moves out of range of the strikes.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Junior misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Junior circles away easily
and Junior cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Junior leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Junior misses with a looping left.
Gracie moves to clinch but Junior breaks away

and Junior moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie looking for a takedown.
Gracie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Junior lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gracie.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Junior tries to work over Gracie's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat.

Junior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Junior counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Junior cracks Gracie on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gracie falls backwards against the cage. Junior follows up with more strikes that drop Gracie to his knees. Junior keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gracie! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Junior!
Jorge Junior is the new middleweight champion!
Jorge Junior was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
