Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kieth Jardine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brutus Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kieth Jardine!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jardine tries to move into range but Nash moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nash enables Jardine to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nash wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jardine is now in half guard.
Nash is trying to control but can't.
Jardine wants to pass to mount but Nash is defending the position.
Nash gets full guard.
Nash trying to control the position.
Jardine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nash swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nash had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jardine defends it easily.

Nash controls Jardine momentarily but Jardine frees himself.

Nash bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jardine's guard.
Jardine wants to sweep here but Nash controlling him for the moment.
Nash throws a big elbow that misses.
Jardine keeping moving, preventing Nash from controlling successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nash landing with the ground and pound.
Jardine looking for a sweep. Not yet Jardine, not yet.
Nash stays in close to Jardine's body and controls the position.
Jardine is trying to keep Nash in close.
Nash throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jardine has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nash finds it's way round the side to connect with Jardine's head.
Nash takes a kick to the side of the head.

Jardine drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nash is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nash pulls Jardine in close to his closed guard and prevents Jardine from doing any damage or advancing position.

We're going to have a standup here because Brutus Nash wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jardine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nash's guard.
Jardine advances to half guard.
Jardine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nash's head.
Jardine is thwarting Nash's attempts to control the position.
Nash is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jardine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Nash is pressing down on Jardine's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Jardine really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nash. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nash is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nash slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Nash lands a decent elbow from side control.
Nash tries to advance to mount but can't.

Brutus Nash overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee asks Nash politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nash prefers to stall for the moment though.

Brutus Nash has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jardine slips a jab from Nash.
Nash throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jardine sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nash has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nash is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jardine tries to kick Nash off but Nash keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jardine is breathing heavily.
Nash works his way into full mount!

Nash jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jardine is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jardine and Nash has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Jardine darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Nash is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nash is working hard here to advance position.

Nash lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jardine!

The referee warns Jardine that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Nash looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Brutus Nash showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
