The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umarov needs to keep his hands up - Nowack had a free shot at his head there.
Umarov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nowack looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Umarov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nowack sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Umarov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nowack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Umarov looks to land a strike but Nowack avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Umarov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nowack - the referee stops the clock and Umarov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nowack. Umarov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Umarov shoots in looking for a takedown but Nowack manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Umarov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nowack connects with a leg kick. Umarov looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Umarov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Nowack is looking to wear down Umarov with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
