The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Givens tries to move into range but Artist moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Givens gets tackled into the ropes by Artist. Artist maintains the clinch.
Artist tries to work over Givens's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Givens feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Givens shoots in looking for a takedown but Artist manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Givens's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Givens crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Artist - the referee stops the clock and Givens gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Artist. Givens manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Givens will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
