Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Taker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Surov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Surov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Amphetamines kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alexei Surov has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Taker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexei Surov!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Surov was well out of range. Poor timing from Taker.
Surov throws a body punch but Taker moves out of range.
Surov cracks a nice hook into Taker's ribs.
Taker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Surov ducks under a wild hook from Taker.
Surov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Surov.
Taker tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Taker gets back to half guard.
Surov prevents Taker from standing back up.

Surov is looking for a kimura here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taker wants to sweep but Surov has passed to side control!

Surov is looking to take a break and control but Taker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Surov lands an elbow.

Surov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Surov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Surov cracks Taker with a big right hand but Taker just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Surov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Taker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Taker avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Surov.
Taker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Surov on the ground.

Surov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Taker is trying to improve his position.
Surov tries to score with some ground and pound. Taker controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Taker is trying to control Surov's posture but Surov avoids it.
Taker is looking to reverse the position.

Surov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Surov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Taker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Taker gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Taker tries to kick Surov off in order to stand up. Surov Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Surov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taker keeps working.

Surov wants to work for an arm triangle but Taker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Surov dodges the punch combination from Taker.
Taker cracks a nice hook into Surov's ribs.
Surov misses with a looping left.

Taker gets caught napping as Surov dives in and scores a takedown. Taker manages to retain guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Taker wants to stand but Surov is controlling the position.
Alexei Surov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Surov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Taker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

A looping hook to the body misses from Surov. Taker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Taker ducks right into an uppercut from Surov.

and Taker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Surov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Surov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Taker is working to avoid the ground and pound but Surov connects with a decent elbow.

Taker tries to bench press Surov off him but Surov keeps the position.
Oh Taker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Alexei Surov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Surov lands a really nice looking cross but Taker seems unphased.

Surov clobbers Taker with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Surov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Taker throws out the jab.
Taker lands a right hook to the body.
Taker jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alexei Surov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fighters circling - Taker throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Taker looks to score with a jab to the body but Surov is just out of range.
Surov drops Taker with a naaaaasty hook - Taker is in real trouble here! Surov dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Surov!
A relieved looking Alexei Surov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
