Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Crazy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt.
Crazy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gomez.
Gomez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Gomez clinches up with Crazy and pushes him back against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Gomez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Crazy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gomez closes the distance and clinches up with Crazy, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes Crazy against the cage but Crazy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gomez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Crazy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gomez, into his guard.

Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crazy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gomez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Gomez pushes Crazy up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Crazy fails to land.
Gomez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Gomez jumps guard but Crazy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Crazy prevents the takedown attempt.
Gomez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Crazy smiles and moves away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gomez closes the distance and clinches up with Crazy, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes Crazy against the cage but Crazy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Crazy tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crazy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gomez feints and as Crazy raises his hands in defense, Gomez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Crazy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Crazy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Crazy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Crazy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Crazy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gomez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gomez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gomez!
Crazy is trying to control Gomez's posture but Gomez avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Gomez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Crazy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jose Gomez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
