Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Devon Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zak Carey!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez has a takedown stuffed.

Carey clinches.
Carey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gonzalez pulls his leg out and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gonzalez.
Zak Carey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzalez has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Gonzalez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gonzalez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carey somewhat.

Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carey napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gonzalez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gonzalez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gonzalez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Carey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Carey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzalez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gonzalez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gonzalez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carey has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gonzalez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gonzalez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carey, who protects the arm well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gonzalez has hold of Carey's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Carey tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gonzalez cranks the arm and Carey screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Carey, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Devon Gonzalez!
