PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wolverine Warpath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Cropp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warpath's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, X-men theme song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warpath throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Warpath thows a body shot but no joy.
Warpath uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cropp.

Cropp throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Warpath sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Warpath goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Karol Cropp has been cut.
Cropp is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Warpath.
Cropp tests Warpath's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cropp connects with a good right hand that stumbles Warpath. Warpath circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Cropp moves away from the strike by Warpath.

Cropp shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Warpath manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Cropp drops back looking for a leg! Warpath is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Warpath manages to kick Cropp off! Cropp jumps back into Warpath's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
No joy there for Cropp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Warpath jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cropp walks away with a smile on his face. Warpath gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cropp rushes Warpath and presses him up against the cage.
Cropp is pushing Warpath up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Warpath is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cropp is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Warpath to the mat. Warpath regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Warpath takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
