PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dois Pra Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaarlo Gustav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kaarlo Gustav was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pra Um keeps the fight on the outside.

Gustav clinches up against the cage.
Gustav drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pra Um gets the underhooks and prevents it.

A punch lands to the side of Gustav 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Pra Um will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pra Um using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gustav has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gustav wants the takedown. Pra Um is fighting it off but Gustav persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pra Um's guard against the cage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kaarlo Gustav wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pra Um shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gustav but Gustav pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dois Pra Um has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaarlo Gustav.

That was a close round but I would say that Dois Pra Um will probably get the nod.

Gustav feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
