Silva has chosen Darude - Sandstorm as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vimes throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Vimes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Vimes.
Vimes misses with the combination.
Silva has a takedown stuffed.
Silva takes one to the chin there.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Vimes sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vimes rushes Silva and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Vimes stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Samuel Vimes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Silva.
Vimes lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Vimes lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Silva.

Silva is trying to pull guard but Vimes turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Vimes digs a right hand underneath Silva's ribcage. Silva let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Vimes lands a body shot.

Vimes throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Vimes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Vimes has Silva pressed against the ropes.

Vimes lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vimes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vimes is pushing Silva up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Vimes dips a shoulder and cracks Silva with a mighty uppercut! Silva falls back against the ropes and Vimes unloads with a barrage of strikes! Silva is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Vimes screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
