PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Redd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redd has chosen We Will Rock You as his entrance music. Chuck Steel had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Redd!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A big right from Steel misses.
Redd has a takedown stuffed.
Redd tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range.
Steel throws a sloppy head kick and Redd moves out of range easily.
Redd with a lazy takedown attempt
and Steel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Redd gets a double leg takedown into Steel's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Steel is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Redd in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Steel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steel tries to get out of the position.
Steel throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Steel wants to get back to his feet but Redd is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Steel is trying to control the position but Redd postures up.
Redd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Redd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel wants to sweep but no luck.
Steel wants to stand but Redd is controlling the position.
Steel throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Steel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chuck Steel.
Redd tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Redd somewhat.
Chuck Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Redd.

Steel forces Redd back against the cage and clinches.

Steel manages to break the clinch.
Steel tests Redd's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Jake Redd has been cut.
Steel throws a sloppy head kick and Redd moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from Steel.
Redd on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steel lands with a kick to the temple. Redd shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Steel dips to his left and cracks Redd with an uppercut!
Steel just misses with a punch to the body.
Redd doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Steel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Steel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Steel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Redd on the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Redd needs to keep his hands up - Steel had a free shot at his head there.


Redd is rocked!
Steel lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Redd crumples to the floor! Steel milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Chuck Steel!
Chuck Steel gave a mention to ANABOLIC **160** and LAUNDRY in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
