PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borin Chim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Borin Chim!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chan.
Chim throws a wild body kick that Chan sees coming a mile off.
Chan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Chan avoids a kick to the body.
Chan shoots in and drives through. Chim sprawls well.
Chan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Chim.
Chan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Chim throws a head kick that misses.
Chan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chim as he jumps to the side.
Chan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chim pinned against the cage. Chim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chan somewhat.

Chim throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Jeff Chan has been cut.
Chan looks for a takedown but Chim sprawls well.
Chan is breathing heavily.
Chim lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chan's sensitive parts.
Chim chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Chim scores with a nice body kick.
Chim misses with a head kick.
Chim should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Chan moves out of range of the body kick.
Chim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chim goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A slapping leg kick lands for Chim.
Chan takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Chan avoids a kick to the body.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Chim.
Chim pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chim throws a sloppy head kick and Chan moves out of range easily.
Chim throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Chan.
Chan takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Chim with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Chim fakes the leg kick and cracks Chan in the body.
Chan moves out of range of the body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chim throws a nice head kick!
Chim plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Chim looks for the body kick but Chan saw that one coming.

Chan has closed the distance and engaged Chim in a clinch.

Chan gets control of Chim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Chan looking for a guillotine here but Chim defends easily.
Chim won't allow Chan to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chim missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Chim pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chan is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chim trying to control but Chan is working from the bottom.

Chan is looking to sinch up a triangle. Chim throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Chan's body to avoid the submission. Chan has instead reached around Chim's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Chan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jeff Chan!
