PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lukottaja Bart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spede Jussi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Spede Jussi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lukottaja Bart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Spede Jussi!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jussi misses with a kick to the body.
Jussi connects with a jab.
Bart misses with a low kick.
Bart tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jussi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bart moves in looking to clinch but Jussi pushes him off.
Jussi throws a shot from downtown. Bart moves away and avoids it.
A lazy left from Bart finds it's target.

and Jussi counters with a good, hard body kick but Bart shrugs it off.
Lukottaja Bart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bart throws a looping overhand right but Jussi ducks down to avoid it.
Jussi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Bart tries to close the distance and clinch but Jussi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bart shoots in for a double leg but Jussi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bart drops back looking for a leg! Jussi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jussi manages to kick Bart off! Bart jumps back into Jussi's guard.

Bart got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jussi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bart has managed to get both his arms back between Jussi's legs - danger averted.

A close second round but Spede Jussi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jussi manages to avoid it.

Jussi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bart wants to sweep here but Jussi controlling him for the moment.

Bart isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jussi stacks Bart on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jussi!

Jussi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Bart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jussi.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jussi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bart doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jussi.

Jussi stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bart throws a hook to the side of Jussi's head but Jussi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spede Jussi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jussi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Spede Jussi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
