Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hart's entrance music is Vertigo - U2. A fine choice. Elkins has chosen Care Bear Countdown as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bret Hart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Hart as he checks the leg kick.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses.
Hart throws a lazy right hand but Elkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice defenses there by Elkins.
Hart misses with a body kick.
Hart blocks a head kick by Elkins.
Hart moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Elkins looks to land a right hand but Hart moved out of range.
Elkins listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Bret Hart has been cut.
Hart throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice uppercut there from Hart.
Hart checks a leg kick.
Elkins throws a shot from downtown. Hart moves away and avoids it.
Hart checks the leg kick nicely there.
Elkins throws a chopping leg kick but Hart manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Hart showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Elkins.
Hart scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Elkins doesn't seem bothered though.
Elkins throws a looping overhand right but Hart ducks down to avoid it.
Elkins staying out of range there.
Hart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Elkins manages to avoid it.
Hart feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Elkinss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hart ducks under a wild hook from Elkins.
Hart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hart wants it to stay on the feet.

Elkins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Elkins prevents Hart from standing back up.
Elkins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hart wants to get back to his feet.
Elkins is trying to control the action in half guard but Hart is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hart looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elkins not landing any meaningful shots this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hart is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elkins's back!
Even with his hooks in, Hart manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Hart tries to get the hooks in deep but Elkins pushed the leg off.
Elkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Elkins just trying to survive but Hart is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Elkins manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Hart is now in side control.
Hart working the strikes but Elkins uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hart thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Elkins's head.
Elkins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hart.
Hart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elkins wants to get back to full guard.
Hart lands with a punch from half guard.
Elkins controlling the position for now.
Hart looks to land a strike but Elkins avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Hart tries to free his leg and advance position but Elkins is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hart wants to control from the top but Elkins keeps moving.
Hart throws an elbow that misses. Elkins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hart's guard. Nice move by Elkins!
Hart looking for a sweep. Not yet Hart, not yet.
Elkins postures up in Hart's guard and throws a big left but Hart blocks it.

Hart scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elkins misses with a body kick.
Hart lands the left hand.
A big left from Hart misses.
Good leg kick by Elkins there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elkins moves away from the strike by Hart.
Hart misses the jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Hart checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Elkins throws a low kick, looking for Hart's leg but Hart calmly moves out of range.
Elkins throws a lazy right hand but Hart sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elkins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hart darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hart avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bret Hart dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bret Hart's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hart checks a leg kick.
Hart is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Elkins throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Elkins sprawls well. Elkins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hart gets slowly back to his feet.
Hart connects with a crisp jab.

Hart closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Elkins quickly recovers to half guard.
Elkins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hart.
Hart missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Elkins gets full guard.
Elkins is trying to keep Hart in close.
Hart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hart trying to control but Elkins is working from the bottom.

Elkins pushes a forearm under Hart's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hart is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
