Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaice Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaice Gunn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Morris!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morris gets a clinch.
Gunn has had enough of the clinch but Morris keeps him there for the moment.
Gunn with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Gunn tries for a takedown but Morris manages to get underhooks.
Gunn pushes off an throws an elbow but Morris leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Gunn wants a takedown but no success here.

Morris turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Morris manages to end up in side control.
Gunn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morris asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Gunn is looking to reverse the position.
Gunn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Morris.
Gunn seems a little lost for a moment, as Morris dominates the positioning.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gunn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morris on the ground.
Morris trying to control the position but Gunn is working away.
Morris creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunn is trying to improve his position.
Morris moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gunn is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morris asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikey Morris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gunn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morris.
Gunn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Morris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morris.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris won't allow Gunn to get back to his feet.
Morris trying to control but Gunn is working from the bottom.

Gunn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Morris blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Morris landing some nice looking knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gunn tries to work over Morris's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Morris breaks from the clinch.
Morris wants to clinch.

Morris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Morris lands in his opponent's guard.
Gunn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Morris stands up from Gunn's guard - Morris perhaps looking for a knockout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morris shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gunn as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mikey Morris dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Morris moves into range and clinches up with Gunn.

Morris jumps guard and drags Gunn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gunn trying to control but Morris is working from the bottom.
Gunn throws an elbow that misses. Morris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gunn's guard. Nice move by Morris!
Morris advances position into side control!

Morris has hold of Gunn's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gunn tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Morris cranks the arm and Gunn screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gunn, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mikey Morris!
Mikey Morris spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
