PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose comes to the cage accompanied by Fat by Weird Al Yankovic. Jong Dong has chosen Aegukka as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kim Jong Dong!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jong Dong clinches.
Rose wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jong Dong has him pressed against the cage.
Rose tries to break free but Jong Dong pushes him back against the cage.
Rose has had enough of the clinch but Jong Dong keeps him there for the moment.

Jong Dong has hold of one of Rose's legs. Rose is fighting the takedown attempt but Jong Dong gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jong Dong wants to control from the top but Rose keeps moving.
Jong Dong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rose has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because George Rose wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jong Dong takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Jong Dong is fighting to break Rose's control of his arms but Rose is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jong Dong drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rose manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jong Dong has Rose in his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jong Dong postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rose badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Jong Dong around the waist but Jong Dong pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Jong Dong is the winner by TKO! Jong Dong jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Kim Jong Dong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
