Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Carlos Linhares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Warszawiak!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linhares connects with a leg kick. Warszawiak looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Warszawiak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Linhares, pushing him back against the cage.

Linhares ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Linhares no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Linhares is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Warszawiak defends well.

Linhares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warszawiak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Warszawiak is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Linhares wants to finish this one by submission but Warszawiak is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Linhares.

Linhares is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Warszawiak to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Warszawiak shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Linhares lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Warszawiak!

Linhares throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Linhares takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Warszawiak can do anything to dispel that myth.
