Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McGuirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 2pac - hit em up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John McGuirk!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Li tries to keep at a distance but McGuirk has taken the fight into the clinch.

It looks like John Li has been cut.
McGuirk scores with a shoulder strike.
Li drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGuirk gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Li lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McGuirk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Li is working away from the top position though.

Li is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McGuirk wants to get back to his feet.

Li is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McGuirk has managed to free his arm - good work.

Li is looking for a kimura but McGuirk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Li to get the leverage.

McGuirk is trying to maintain the position but Li is very close to passing his half guard.

McGuirk is looking for a sweep. Li is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McGuirk is trying to control but can't.

Li is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McGuirk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Li.

Li is not content to let McGuirk control the position.
Li tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McGuirk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McGuirk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
McGuirk wants to stand but Li is controlling his arm.
Li gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Li is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGuirk pulls his head out easily.

McGuirk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Li is just riding it out for now. McGuirk eventually gives up the hold.

McGuirk working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Li is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGuirk pulls his head out easily.
Li tries to get to full guard but McGuirk has control of the leg.
Li makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Li.
McGuirk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
McGuirk is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Li is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Li looking for a triangle here. McGuirk is fighting it but it looks tight! Li pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, McGuirk is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). John Li!
